Troubleshooting
Mechanical system/paint stage
E = XX is displayed. A malfunction has occurred. Use the table to identify the malfunction.
Problem Cause Action
Low flow rate 1. Spray tip worn 1. Follow Pressure Relief procedure warning, then replace
tip.
2. Spray tip clogged 2. Relieve the pressure. Check and clean the spray tip.
3. Material container emp-
ty
3. Fill the container, vent the device, suction of material
4. Intake screen clogged 4. Remove and clean, then reinstall
5. Inlet valve ball and/or
piston ball not moving free-
ly/not sealing
5. Remove intake valve and clean. Check the balls and
seats for defects and nicks; replace if necessary; strain the
paint before use in order to remove impurities that could
cause clogging.
6. Suction hose connec-
tions
6. Tighten any loose connections. Check for missing or
damaged seals.
7. Device filter, gun filter
or tip is clogged or dirty.
7. Clean filter;
8. Bypass switch is leaking 8. Relieve the pressure. Check the intake valve and seals.
9. Make sure the pump
does not continue to cycle
when gun trigger is relea-
sed. (Bypass switch is lea-
king.)

10. Leak in the packing
nuts area; this may indicate
worn or damaged seals.
10. Replace seals; also check the piston rod for hardened
paint residues or nicks and replace if necessary. Tighten
packing nut.
11. Piston rod damaged 11. Replace.
12. Low cut-out pressure 12. Turn the pressure control knob fully clockwise. Make
sure the pressure control knob is correctly assembled and
that it can be rotated fully clockwise. If the problem per-
sists, replace the pressure sensor.
13. Piston seals are worn
or damaged
13. Replace seals.
