11. Continue to depress the footswitch for a few seconds. After sterile water begins to
flow from the distal end of the endoscope, adjust the flow rate controls to obtain the
desired flow rate for the procedure.
WARNING: Patient Injury Hazard.
The user should assess the condition
of the patient and use clinical judgement to set the irrigation flow rate to a
suitable level to avoid patient injury.
WARNING: Contamination Hazard.
Use proper aseptic techniques to
avoid contamination of the irrigation tubing during device setup,
replacement of water bottles, and between patient uses.
WARNING: Biohazard.
Exposure to bodily fluids may occur during the
connection or disconnection of the irrigation tubing. The user is responsible
for adhering to Body Substance Isolation protocols.
NOTE:
The ultimate water flow rate will be defined by the smallest size
lumen used with any tubing or accessory attached. The pump activates at
a default flow rate, and the flow rate is user controlled by up and down
buttons shown by the flow indicator LED lights. Increasing lights from the
bottom to the top displays increasing flow rates. The user can expect flow
rates between about 100 and 700 ml/min depending on tubing size, tubing
length and type of endoscope used.
