Dispersive Electrode Configuration / CQM Test (Part 1: Non-Sensing Mode)

below.
2.
Connect a split end dispersive electrode connector with no pad to the PSS Receptacle
on the front panel of the gi4000 ESU.
3.
For this test, you may use either a resistance decade box or an ESU Analyzer with a
CQM feature.
4.
Connect the dispersive electrode test leads to either measuring device accordingly.
5.
Starting
with 0 Ω, increase resistance on the measurement device (a
YELLOW
PSS
LED will be illuminated). Increase resistance until the gi4000 ESU emits an audible
alarm and a Non-Sensing Pad Error message appears on touchscreen display.
6.
Record the measured trip point value from the measurement device on the 00732974
Preventative Maintenance Test Data Summary Sheet
– gi4000 ESU.

2.
Disconnect one (1) of the dispersive electrode test leads from the resistance decade
box or ESU Analyzer.
3.
Set the resistance on the measuring device
to 100 Ω.
4.
Reconnect the dispersive electrode test lead to the resistance decade box or ESU
Analyzer.
5.
Visually verify the PSS LED indicator has illuminated
GREEN
.
6.
Starting with 100
Ω, increase resistance on the measurement device in increments of
5
Ω until you reach 130 Ω.
7.
When the measurement device reaches 130
Ω, increase resistance on the
measurement device in increments of 1
Ω until the gi4000 ESU emits an audible alarm
and a Sensing-Pad error message appears on the touchscreen display.
8.
Record the measured trip point value from the measurement device on the 00732974
