Channel
All sensors are provided by Kongsberg Maritime AS with predefined communication
channels. It may be required to change one or more communication channels, and there
may be many reasons for this.
Select a channel with low noise and interference from other sensors or systems. For
example, a hull mounted echosounder at 38 kHz with high power and short pulse length,
can create interference on channels 1L and 1H or TrawlEye channel 1. The same happens
when using a echosounder on 50 kHz since it can interfere with the highest 8L and 8H
channel or the highest TrawlEye channel 8.

Update rate
All sensors are provided by Kongsberg Maritime AS with a default update rate setting. In
some cases you may find that this update rate does not suit your operational needs. This
parameter shows how often you can expect to receive information from the sensor. A
faster update rate gives you information more often, but will decrease the battery life.
When configuring PX MultiSensor mk2, PX Universalor PX MultiCatch sensors, the
options are “Fast”, “Normal” and “Slow”. The update rate is measured in seconds.
“Fast” is the fastest possible update rate for the selected measurements. “Normal” is 2
times slower and “Slow” is 3 times slower. The update rate depends on the type of
measurement you have selected and how many measurements the sensor is transmitting.
When configuring a PX TrawlEye, the update rate value refers to the time between each
update from the TrawlEye. The options are 0.5s, 1s, 2s, 4s or 8s being 1s the default
value. When towing slow or on schools of fish, you can select 2s or a slower value to
increase battery life. When towing at 3 kts or faster or on single target fish, 1s update
rate is recommended.

Output power
Output power is related to the signal coming from the sensor going to the vessel. Together
with update rate, output power has the biggest impact in the battery consumption.
We recommend you to find the lowest output power that gives satisfactory signal to
increase usage between charging.
