Before configuring the PX TrawlEye sensor for your operating needs, you can test
different settings. This will help you save a lot of operative time and will make you
obtain accurate data right from the beginning.
The
Learn mode
option offers different settings that change automatically and will help
you identify the better setting according to the current scenario.
If Learn mode is enabled the PX TrawlEye sensor will run through the learn parameters
you select for the ping-period you select in the ping interval.
Note
Learn parameter 1; Pulse Length and Learn Parameter 2; TVG. Ping interval: 60. The
PX TrawlEye will start with pulse length 64µs and TVG 20 and use this setting for 60
pings, then the TrawlEye will keep 64µs, but change TVG to 30 for the next 60 pings, then
64µs and TVG 35 for 60 pings and then 64µs and TVG40 for 60 pings. The TrawlEye
will then change pulse length to 128µs and TVG to 20 and run through all TVGs with this
pulse length. After 2048µs and TVG 40 has been pinging 60 times the TrawlEye will start
over with 64µs and TVG 20 and run through all settings again and again until you take it
up and configure the sensor to the preferred settings you found during the Learn mode

Overview of sensors channels and frequencies
If many acoustic systems are used simultaneously, due care must be taken to prevent
acoustic interference between the different instruments. In order to avoid interferences
between sensors, their communication channel must be different. If you have two or more
catch monitoring sensors on board, you need to make sure they do not use the same
frequency range.
All sensors are provided by Kongsberg Maritime AS with predefined communication
channels.
