manufacturer.

7.1

Selection of the power supply (PS) module

Whether you require an additional power supply (PS) module for your assembly, depends on

the power consumption by all I/O modules from the backplane bus. The power budget

calculation balances the power provided by the interface module and the power supply (PS)

module(s) via the backplane bus, against the required power for the I/O modules.

If you use STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V12 and above to plan your configuration, you will be

supported in the power budget calculation with corresponding advice.

●

If you use the GSD file for ET 200MP to plan your configuration, you must perform the

power budget calculation manually.

See the chapt ers Power budget calculation (Page 32) and Setting up power segments

(Page 36).

Further information on the performance values (power feed, power consumption) of the

interface module, of the power supply module, and of the I/O modules can be found in the

Product Manuals of the respective modules.
