Step 2
Set the maximum number of secure MAC address for the port.

Set the violation mode and the action to be taken.

Selects a violation mode.
When configuring port security, note that the following information about port security vio-
lation modes:
•
protect
drops packets with unknown source addresses until you remove a sufficient
number of secure MAC addresses to drop below the maximum value.
•
restrict
drops packets with unknown source addresses until you remove a sufficient
number of secure MAC addresses to drop below the maximum value and causes the
Security Violation counter to increment.
•
shutdown
puts the interface into the error-disabled state immediately and sends an
SNMP trap notification
Step 4
Enter a secure MAC address for the port.

MACADDR: enter the MAC address.
NAME: vlan name
To disable the configuration of port secure, use the following command.
