WARNING
: Warnings are intended to alert you to the

CAUTION
: Cautions are intended to alert you to the
importance of following correct operating procedures to prevent the
risk of damage to the system.
Note
: Notes contain information concerning the proper use of the
system and/or correct execution of a procedure.
Probe and Transducer
In accordance with ultrasound convention, these terms can be
interchangeable. For the ACUSON Freestyle, in this manual:
•
Probe
typically refers to the entire assembly of the handheld
scanning module which includes the probe transducer, electronics,
controls, and battery.
•
Transducer
typically refers to the scanning array at the tip of the
probe.
Key Text
There are two types of Soft Keys on the system and they are
formatted differently in this manual:
• Bottom Soft Keys and their menu and sub-menu items: for
