Wireless Probes
Wireless Signal Quality
The Freestyle console has a wireless signal quality meter that represents the wireless probe
signal quality. Always position the probe and system to maximize the signal quality.
By staying inside the 3 meter range and maintaining a good line-of-sight between the probe
and the console — without obstructing the antennas — you will be able to operate with good
results.

The Wireless Signal Quality Meter indicates the wireless probe link quality; best signal quality is six bars.
The number of bars on the wireless signal quality meter has been empirically correlated to the
potential for artifact to be introduced into the image because of a weak signal. This correlation
has been experimentally quantified for a variety of system settings, probe types, image
characteristics, and bit error levels in the wireless signal.
Use the display as a guide to maintaining a good link, following the guidelines below.
