Memory Transmission Mode
When a fax is sent in memory transmission mode, the machine calls the receiving machine and begins
transmitting while the original is still being scanned into memory (Quick On-Line (See below)). The
number of pages that can be held in memory varies depending on the original, sending conditions, and
the amount of expansion memory installed in the machine. (See page 46) If desired, you can have the
machine wait until all pages have been scanned into memory before calling the other machine and
transmitting the fax.
●
You can store the next transmission job while the machine is busy performing a memory transmission.
(See page 35)
●
If the memory becomes full while an original is being scanned, a memory full message will appear in
the display. You can press the OK button to send only the pages that have already been scanned, or
press the CLEAR key to clear the entire job from memory.
●
If a misfeed occurs while scanning an original from the SPF, remove the original as explained in
"Misfeed Removal" in the copier manual, and then follow the instructions in the display to repeat the
transmission operation.
Quick On-Line function
Quick On-Line is a type of memory transmission. When this function is turned on, scanning of original
pages in a multi-page fax and transmission of previously scanned pages take place simultaneously.
●
Quick On-Line can only be used for normal transmission and Confidential transmission.
●
Quick On-Line cannot be used for faxes sent from the platen glass. Normal memory transmission is
used.
●
If the memory becomes full during scanning, scanning and transmission are canceled.
●
If the connection to the receiving machine cannot be established or a line error occurs, recalling takes
place (See page 29).
●
Even if Quick On-Line is turned on, it will not function for a timer transmission, broadcast transmission,
sub-address transmission, relay request transmission, or page division transmission. Normal memory
transmission is used. In addition, a memory transmission job cannot be stored while the line is being
used. In this case, transmission automatically switches to normal transmission.
●
Quick On-Line is turned on with the key operator program. (See page 154)
Direct Transmission
When a fax is sent by direct transmission, the fax is sent directly (without being stored in memory) after
the connection to the receiving machine is established.
●
In direct transmission mode, further transmission jobs cannot be stored while the machine is busy
transmitting. In addition, the Rotate Transmission function will not operate.
●
A fax cannot be sent in memory transmission mode when on-hook dialing is used. (The fax is
automatically sent by direct transmission.)
●
A fax cannot be sent to multiple destinations by broadcast transmission when direct transmission
mode is used. Timer transmission, duplex scanning, and page division scanning cannot be used.
●
Direct transmission mode can be used to send a fax even when the memory is full.
