Distinctive Ring
This setting is used when you have multiple phone/fax numbers assigned to one line and you wish to
use a different ringing pattern for each number. The setting is initially turned off.

Follow steps 1 through 4 of the initial procedure. (See page 143)

key to select "INITIAL SETTING" and then press the OK key.

key to select "DISTINCTIVE RING" and then press
the OK key.

Press the

key to select the desired ring pattern and then press
the OK key.

Selections are "OFF", "STANDARD", "PATTERN 1", "PATTERN 2", "PATTERN 3",
"PATTERN 4", and "PATTERN 5".
STANDARD RING: Your unit's normal ringing pattern
RING PATTERN 1: Two short rings
RING PATTERN 2: One short, one long, and one short ring
RING PATTERN 3: Two short rings and one long ring
RING PATTERN 4: Three rings
RING PATTERN 5: Two rings

If RING PATTERN 2 or RING PATTERN 3 do not respond properly, try RING PATTERN 4.
●
If RING PATTERN 1 does not respond properly, try RING PATTERN 5.
Remote Reception Number
This setting is used to change the number for activating fax reception from an extension phone. The
initial setting is 5.

key to select "INITIAL SETTING" and then press the OK key.

key to select "REMOTE RECEPTION" and then press the OK key.

Enter a new remote number with the numeric keys (0 to 9) and then press the OK key.

If you make a mistake, move the cursor to the incorrect digit with the
keys (the
cursor should be over the digit), and then enter the correct digit.
Note
●
If a remote number has been previously stored, the newly entered remote number overwrites
the old number.
