In the example the "MERIAN scout" travel
guide is used.

Select and confirm the "MERIAN scout"
menu field. Confirm your selection by
pressing the same knob.
The basic travel guide menu will appear.
The visual display and handling will
depend on the travel guide supplier and
guide options.

In the basic navigation menu you can
select from the "Settings" menu field dif-
ferent basic settings for the navigation
system.
Please, select between the different pos-
sibilities:
Select language for voice announce-
ments
– German
– English (Imperial: distances are dis-
played in miles and yards, speeds in
miles/hour)
– English (Metric: distances are displayed
in kilometres and meters, speeds in
kilometres/hour)
– Spanish
– French
– Italian
– Dutch
Enter the vehicle position manually.
Adjust volume for voice messages.
Show travel time or arrival time.
Set display contrast.
Set time.
Day/night screen switching.
Display GPS status.
