The dynamic radio-navigation system
(multi-function display) provides an easy
handling of the vehicle’s audio and navi-
gation comfort units. The system can be
additionally equipped with an original
SEAT 6 CD-changer, a digital sound pack-
age*, and a TV/Video* module.

The navigation system becomes your
"intelligent companion". It enables you to
reach your chosen destination right from
your departure point in an easy, safe and
comfortable way without having to use
the help of maps. When in unknown cities
you can, for instance, drive to the closest
service station. During your trip you can
stop off perhaps at a restaurant in partic-
ular or find a tourist spot. The system
uses the data stored in the navigation CD
to work out your destination. While the
system guides you to your destination it
keeps sending out messages which are
displayed on screen, such as the location
of your vehicle, instructions on turns
(direction and distance to the turn), infor-
mation on arrival time to your destination.

The present vehicle position is worked out
with the help of satellites. The distance
driven is measured by the ABS sensor sys-
tem. The gyroscope (turning angle sen-
sor) calculates orientation. This informa-
tion is provided to the navigation system
for referencing against stored carto-
graphic material.
Outside urban areas this type of system
may not guarantee a precise position cal-
culation. In such a case search is done by
satellite. This type of positioning is known
as Global Positioning System (GPS).
