Problem
Remedy
PC does not boot
Switch off the PC and check the following:
• Check if the RTC
®
5 board is correctly seated in the PCI slot.
Refer to the instructions in your PC manual.
• Check for metal parts that may have fallen into the PC housing during
installation of the RTC
®
5.
• Check for loose cables or connectors
RTC
®
5 does not respond
• Check the software driver installation. See

• Use the included HPGL converter program to check if the board can
be properly accessed.
If not: Check the cable type and the cable length. If the scan system
is controlled via an XY2-100 converter, then check, whether the
converter’s solder jumpers are set appropriate for the cable length

If yes: Check the DLL import declarations in your application software

Application software fails
• Check the software driver installation. See

Scan head control fails
• Check if the scan head is properly connected to the RTC

data cable. Make sure to follow the specifications for the data cable.

Laser control fails
