FUEL DELIVERY SUSTEM
The hydraulic installation is mainly composed of:
- Tank (10)
- Prefilter (9)
- Electric feed pump (8)
- Main filter (7)
- High pressure pump (6)
- Hydraulic accumulator (Rail) (4)
- Electro-injectors (3)
- Supply, return and high pressure pipes
The fuel supply system is divided into two circuits: low pressure
and high pressure. Forming part of the low pressure circuit are:
flexible pipes, rigid pipes fixed to the frame, the prefilter, the
feed electro-pump, the main filter, the thermostarter electro-valve
and the thermostarter spark plug.
Part of the excess fuel in the high pressure pump is used to
lubricate and cool the pump itself.
Pressure limiter valve mouth where 5-way multiple connector is
fitted, has a 2.5 mm calibrated orifice whose function is to
maintain a pressure of 0.5 bar on the thermostarter.
The circuit does not need air bleeding.
Prefilter
Generalities
This is a small translucent filter (9) placed in the aspiration line
of the electric feed pump, between this and the tank.
It must be replaced when impurities become visible or coinciding
with the replacement of the main filter element.
