6B-8 COOLING SYSTEM
WATER RADIATOR
Removal, installation or substitution of radiator
Removal
1) Place the vehicle in a pit or hydraulic lifter and prepare a
container to pour the coolant of circuit.
2) Remove coolant of circuit as follows:
• Open fully the heating tap.
• Unlock filling cap (1) of reservoir tank (2).
• Loosen totally emptying cap (3) of radiator and remove all
the coolant of circuit.
• Withdraw cap applying pressure on clamp (4), check the
worthiness of gasket (5) and replace it if necessary .
• Install again cap (3) tightening it moderately.
WARNING:
Extract the coolant when the engine is cold.
Otherwise you could get burnings.
3) Remove water radiator and air (intercooler) assembly as
follows:
• Disconnect of water radiator (12), degasifying hose (9), upper
(6) and lower (7) hoses.
• Disconnect air inlet hose (3) to intercooler (11) (connection
to metal tube) and air outlet (10) of intercooler.
CAUTION:
Protect with appropriate plugs the parts which have
remained open: hoses, connectors, inlets and outlets
of the intercooler.
This precaution will prevent the entry of alien
bodies: dust particles, dirt, etc... which could indu-
ce irreversible damages in the turbocharger, even
in the engine.
• Remove the fixing screws (14) to supports (15), loosen
nuts (13), displace forwards the radiator assembly till
liberating the fan and extracting it.
CAUTION:
Carry out the extraction of two radiators, taking care
to not damaging the panels or the pipes
.
