Upper timing cover, crankshaft pulley and
electromagnetic gasket installation
Upper timing cover installation
1) Install upper timing cover (75) and apply to the screws the
specified tightening torque.
Tightening torque for upper timing cover:
0,75 Kg-m (75 Nm)
Crankshaft installation
2) Install the crankshaft pulley (15) with the supplement which
was dismantled or calculated in 6A-129, «Control of
crankshaft pulley alignment».
3) Lock engine flywheel rotation and tighten pulley screw to
the specified tightening torque.
Tightening torque for crankshaft pulley screw :
20 Kg-m (200 Nm)
Electromagnetic gasket, water pump pulley and fan
bushing
4) Install electromagnetic gasket (77) and tighten nuts (76) to
the specified tightening torque.
Tightening torque nuts of the electromagnetic gasket:
0,75 Kg-m (7,5 Nm)
5) Install washers (79), blocking washer (80) and pulley (78).
6) Pressing on pulley (78), measure height (Y): it must be in
correspondece with specified value.
Height (Y) (front of the block to front of the pulley):
88,9 ÷ 90,1 mm
7) Install fan bushing (81), fit washer (82) and nut (83). Keep
pulley away from turning (78) and tighten nut (83) to the
specified tightening torque in two steps.
Tightening torque for nut fixing fan bushing (thread
leftwards):
• 1
st
with torque wrench: 4 Kg-m (40 Nm)
• 2
nd
step angular tightening: 110° ± 10°
NOTE:
Selfbraking nut fixing the fan bushing, should be new
each time it is dismantled. This nut threads leftwards.
