Note: The Manager can not determine what drive is bad. The RED Exclamation in the lower left
corner on the NAS main screen will let you know of any problems. Any drive that is bad must be failed
and removed to allow the replacement drive to be used.
Available operations:
RAID 0:
RAID 0 [striped drives] does not allow the manager to manage it because if a drive goes bad the RAID
is no longer valid and all data is lost. If you do fail a drive in a working RAID 0 array, all data is lost and
the RAID must be re-initiated.
RAID 1:
RAID 1 Mirroring allows for a drive to go bad without all data being lost. Once the bad drive is
Identified, set that unit [drive or hardware RAID] as a Failed drive by marking the proper checkbox (in
the column F) and click on Apply button.
To delete or if you want to remove the unit from an array, mark the proper checkbox (in the column R)
and click on Remove button.
