13.2. Zawory dętek
Zawór Schraedera (samochodowy lub oznaczony symbolem AV) - najpopularniej stosowany
wentyl w dętkach rowerowych. Dętki z tym wentylem można pompować pompkami samo-
chodowymi i praktycznie każdą pompką rowerową. Aby spuścić powietrze z dętki, należy
wcisnąć wewnętrzną iglicę zaworu.
Zawór Presta (tak zwany włoski, często oznaczany symbolem SV) - z racji najmniejszej
średnicy spośród wentyli, często używany jest w rowerach szosowych i trekingowych.
Stosowany w dętkach rowerowych jak i obręczach bezdętkowych. Aby napompować dęt-
kę należy użyć pompki z końcówką typu Presta, powinno się odkręcić nakrętkę blokującą
maszynkę zaworu. Aby wypuścić powietrze przez zawór Presta, należy odkręcić nakrętkę
blokującą maszynkę zaworu i nacisnąć ją
Zawór Dunlop (często oznaczony symbolem DV) – klasyczny wentyl rowerowy. Dętki tego
typu pompuje się taką samą pompką jak wentyle Presta. Aby spuścić powietrze z dętki,
należy wykręcić cały wewnętrzny wkład i go wyjąć.

14. OBRĘCZE
Przed rozpoczęciem użytkowania roweru, należy
każdorazowo sprawdzić stan obręczy kół. W trakcie
eksploatacji roweru, obręcze ulegają zużyciu, szcze-
gólnie kiedy stanowią element układu hamulcowego
(hamulce V-brake). Warto zwrócić uwagę, czy obręcze

13.2. Inner tube valves
Schrader or auto valve (AV marked) – the most commonly used valve in bicycle inner tubes.
You can use car pumps and virtually any bicycle pump to inflate tubes using this valve.
To deflate air from the inner tube, press the core of the valve.
Presta or Italian valve (often SV marked) – because of the smallest diameter among the
valves, it is often used on road and trekking bikes. Used in bicycle inner tubes and tubeless
rims. To inflate the inner tube, use a pump with a Presta type head and loosen the locknut
of the valve tip. To let air out of the Presta valve, unscrew the locknut of the valve tip and
press on it.
Dunlop valve (often DV marked) – a classic bicycle valve. Tubes of this type are inflated with
the Presta capable pumps. To let air out of the tube, unscrew the entire core and remove it.
14. RIMS
Always check the condition of the wheel rims before
every ride. In the course of bike use, the rims wear
out, especially when they are part of the brake sys-
tem (V-brakes). It is important to ensure that the rims
are true: hold the bike up and spin the front and rear
wheels, observing the clearance between the rim and
