Ill. Transportation Safety
Loading & unloading the truck
• The Loading and unloading of the
F
orklift should be done with care
because of the potential danger. Make sure the
F
orklift engine runs
slowly when you drive the
F
orklift aboard a vehicle or ship.
• The loading and unloading of the
F
orklift should be carried out on
firm and flat ground. And keep a safe distance from the roadside.
• Always keep the wheels of the transporting vehicles stable when
loading the
F
orklift on it or unloading the
F
orklift off it. Make sure
the transporting vehicle stays still and put cushion blocks under the
ramp.
•
Use the sloping plate with enough strength and enough width and
length to provide a safe slope for loading and unloading. The angle
between the slope and ground should not exceed 20%, and the
distance between sloping plates should match the wheels distance of
the truck.
53
• Make sure the sloping plate stays still and keep same height of two
sides.
• Make sure the surface of sloping plate is clean without lubricant, oil
stain, ice or loose material. Remove any dirt on the forklift's tires.
•
It is strictly forbidden to steer on the sloping plate. If necessary, you
should drive the forklift off the sloping plate and adjust the
direction right before you drive it up again.
•
After loading the forklift, use the fixing pole to lock the linking
and steering mechanism and wedge up the tires and tighten them
with strong rope to avoid any movement of the forklift
during the transportation.
Hoisting
When you need to move the forklift onto ship, train or railway wagon,
use the two hoisting holes of the outer mast and the two hoisting holes on
the counterweight as shown in the figure.
• Requirements for hoisting condition:
1. Disassemble the forks from the fork carriage and hang them against
the fork carriage then tighten them or transport them separately.
2.
the hoist hook should be placed in center of gravity as shown in the
figure.
3. The steel wire which links hoist hook and the four hoisting spots
must be fastened tightly. Use the cloth strip or sponge to protect the
surface painting of the part where the steel wire touches the
F
orklift
to prevent scratches.
4.
Keep the
F
orklift parallel and adjust all the steel wires to make them
equally stressed, then slowly hoist the
F
orklift.
