Installing the DXi6902 System in the Rack
DXi6902 Installation and Configuration Guide
4
Connect each power supply to an AC power source using the provided power cable
(see
):
Note:
Quantum recommends connecting the Node and each Array and Expansion
module power cord (two per unit) to a separate AC circuit to ensure system
availability in case of a power failure. Power supplies should be checked
periodically for audible and LED warnings.
a
Connect each Array module (RBOD) and Expansion module (EBOD) power
supply to a primary and secondary AC power source. Use the attached straps to
secure the power cords to the chassis.
b
Connect each Node power supply to a primary and secondary AC power source.
Use the attached straps to secure the power cords to the chassis.

Do
not
connect any Ethernet cables at this time. (You will connect them in a later
procedure.)
6
Connect Fibre Channel cables to each Fibre Channel port (see
).
Note:
If there is a port cover on the port, remove it before connecting a cable.
Fibre Channel ports 0, 1, 2, and 3 are used for virtual tape library (VTL) host
connection. Fibre Channel ports 4 and 5 are used for path to tape (PTT) connection
(or can be configured for VTL).
