calculation
In a configuration with three print units and a distance of 165 mm
between each of the print units the minimal paper format is calculated in
the following way:
•
D.U1U3 = 165 mm + 165 mm = 330 mm
•
330 mm + 55 = 380 mm
•
330 / 3 = 127 mm (4.9”) = minimal paper format

How to position the print unit guide bars
The print unit guide bars of the
Quadient
AS-Orbit are pre-assembled. If the position of
the print units has to be shifted due to modifications or repairs, the default settings have
to be restored.
•
The guide bar has to be in the right angle to the transport direction.
•
The guide bar has to be parallel to the conveyor surface.
•
In the lowest position of the scaled adjustment wheel the printhead must not touch
the conveyor belt. Between material surface and print unit should be a distance of
0.8 mm / 0.03".
•
The recommended and pre-adjusted horizontal distance between the print units is
164.9 mm / 6.49”. If the actual distance between the units should differ, use the
option DIST. U1-U2 / DIST. U2-U3 / DIST. U3-U4, on page 71 to adjust the set value.
The maximum value is 200 mm / 7,87”.
Horizontal distance between the print units
Good print results may only be achieved if the distances are
measured exactly and set correctly in the printer options.

How to position the paper sensor guide bar
The paper sensor guide bar of the
Quadient
AS-Orbit is pre-assembled. If the position
of paper sensor guide bar has to be shifted due to modifications or repairs, the default
settings have to be restored.
Sensor type “DK12 (No Reflector)” 4142016Z (K0804.024)
•
The paper sensor should have a working distance of 11 ± 2 mm above the media
surface.
•
Since the transport belt has holes for the vacuum suction, the paper sensor has to be
placed above an area without holes.
•
The recommended and pre-adjusted horizontal distance between the paper sensor
and the first print unit is 90.1 mm / 3.55". If the actual distance between the sensor
