Adjustment of road wheel axle bearings
(1) hub cover, (2) castellated nut, (3) securing split cotter pin
The wheel should turn smoothly without stiffness or detectable resistance not originating from
abrasion of brake shoes in brake drum. Adjustment of bearing looseness may only be
conducted, when the manure spreader is hitched to a tractor, and the load box is empty.
TIP
If the wheel is dismounted, bearing looseness is easy to check and adjust.
5.2.6 MOUNTING AND DISMOUNTING WHEEL, INSPECTION OF WHEEL NUT
TIGHTENING
Wheel removal
Immobilise the manure spreader with parking brake.
Place the wheel chocks under the wheel opposite to the dismantled wheel.
Ensure that the manure spreader is properly secured and shall not move
during wheel dismounting.
