Caution:
Disassembly of the PDC-2000/3000 should be done on a padded work area to
prevent scratches to the exterior surfaces of the camera.
To prevent electrostatic damage to camera components, technicians must be
grounded in accordance with approved grounding procedures. Additionally,
the camera should be placed on an anti-static mat.
Note:
When installing self-tapping screws into plastic, do not force the screw into its
mating hole. Place the screw into the hole and then back it out slightly until it
“finds” the previously made threads in the plastic; then, continue installing the
screw.
When disassembling the camera, you will note that protective tape is used at
several locations within the camera body. Be certain that all of the tape is back in
place before securing the camera chassis to the top cover assembly.
The connectors in the camera have locking tabs which secure the harness
assemblies in place (Figure 5-1). To remove a harness, first pull back the two
locking tabs and pull the harness free of the connector. When installing a harness,
align it in the connector and make sure it is fully seated before pushing in the two
locking tabs.
