Inspect inside of hub

for wear, galling, or uneven
surface.

Inspect crankshaft bearing surface for abnormal
wear.
6.
Remove starter gear from the flywheel assembly.
7.
Remove the three, one-way clutch retaining bolts.
8.
Remove clutch and inspect both sides of drive rollers
w
and roller contact surface

inside hub for wear,
damage, or uneven surface.
9.
Inspect drive surface of starter gear
r
and bearing
surface
t
for wear, damage, or uneven surface. If
any starter clutch component is worn or damaged,
replace clutch, clutch hub, and starter gear.
