Installation of the Wing and Fittings
Note
Corrosion preventive (Pt.No. P04-039)
and
installation in the fuselage and wing fitting holes.
The maximum mixing ratio is 10 parts by weight of
Corrosion preventive (Pt.No. P04-039)
to 1 part by
weight of thinner.
2.1
Clean all the fuselage and wing attachment fittings with Solvent (Pt.No. P01-010).
2.1.1
Put the long bolts Figure 1 [5] and Figure 1 [11] and the short bolt Figure 1 [18] through and out of their
related fuselage and wing fitting holes. This is to make sure they will easily go through the bush holes
for the wing installation.
2.1.2
Apply a layer of Corrosion preventive (Pt.No. P04-039) to inner surfaces of all the fuselage and wing
attachment bushes, and the faces of the rear top fittings.
2.1.3
Apply a layer of Corrosion preventive (Pt.No. P04-039) to the shank of the rear top fitting bolt
Figure 1 [25].
2.1.4
Apply a layer of Corrosion preventive (Pt.No. P04-039) to sides of the washers Figure 1 [3],
Figure 1 [9] and Figure 1 [17] that touch the fuselage and wing fittings.
2.1.5
Apply a layer of Corrosion preventive (Pt.No. P04-039) to the outer surface of the long bolt
Figure 1 [5]. Make sure the outer surface of the bolts are completely covered with the corrosion
preventative. Put the installation tools Figure 1 [30] and Figure 1 [31] in the ends of the long bolt
Figure 1 [5], as shown in the example on Fig. 1 , Sheet 2.
2.1.6
Put the new rear top bolt Figure 1 [25] and washer Figure 1 [23] in position through the hole
Figure 1 [24] in the wing. Make sure the washer Figure 1 [23] is installed with the chamfer towards the
fitting.
2.1.7
Make sure all the slings are correctly attached to the wing and clear of the wiring looms and
components.
2.1.8
Carefully lift the wing and move it into position. Align the forward top bushes in the wing fittings and the
fuselage fittings.
2.1.9
Install the forward top long bolt Figure 1 [5] through the wing and fuselage fittings Figure 1 [4]. Use
only hand force to install the long bolt Figure 1 [5]. Remove the installation tools Figure 1 [30] and
Figure 1 [31] from the long bolt Figure 1 [5]. If the long bolt Figure 1 [5] cannot be fully installed by
hand force, it is permitted to use the bolt removal tool Figure 1 [28] (with hand force only to turn the
knurled nut) to fully install the long bolt.
2.1.10
Use the hoist as necessary to carefully align the rear bottom bushes in the wing fittings and the
fuselage fittings.
2.1.11
Apply a layer of Corrosion preventive (Pt.No. P04-039) to the outer surface of the short bolt
Figure 1 [18]. Make sure the outer surface of the bolts are completely covered with the corrosion
preventative. Put the installation tools Figure 1 [30] and Figure 1 [31] in the ends of the short bolt
Figure 1 [18].
2.1.12
Install the rear bottom short bolt Figure 1 [18] and the torlon plates Figure 1 [19] through the wing
and fuselage fittings Figure 1 [20]. Use only hand force to install the short bolt Figure 1 [18]. Remove
the installation tools Figure 1 [30] and Figure 1 [31] from the short bolt Figure 1 [18]. If the short
bolt Figure 1 [18] cannot be fully installed by hand force, it is permitted to use the bolt removal tool
Figure 1 [28] (with hand force only to turn the knurled nut) to fully install the short bolt.
2.1.13
Use the hoist as necessary to carefully align the forward bottom bushes in the wing fittings and the
fuselage fittings.
2.1.14
Apply a layer of Corrosion preventive (Pt.No. P04-039) to the outer surface of the long bolt
Figure 1 [11]. Make sure the outer surface of the bolts are completely covered with the corrosion
