When a change of the cargo is likely to affect the compass.
Note
A Landing Compass with an accuracy of ±2° is an alternative to the Compass Rose.
Note
When you do the ADAHRS check swing, do a check of the heading indications on the standby compass
(if installed) and the ESIS. Make sure that the heading indications agree.
5.2
Job Set Up
5.2.1
Put the aircraft on the compass swing location.
5.2.2
If necessary, put the nosewheel on the Compass swing trolley (Pt.No. T34-035).
5.2.3
Remove the protective covers from the pitot heads and AOA transmitters.
5.2.4
Energize the aircraft electrical system, refer to AMM 12-B-24-00-00-00A-901A-A.
Note
Wait for at least 2 minutes after you energize the aircraft, to allow the ADAHRS to do a self test and
stabilize.
5.2.5
Start the engine, refer to AMM 12-B-71-00-00-00A-901A-A.
5.2.6
Make sure that these switches are set to OFF or INHIBIT:
−
Right crossbar panel ELECTRICAL HEAT/COOL switch
−
Left crossbar panel ICE PROTECTION switches.
5.2.7
Set the right crossbar panel ACS BLEED AIR switch to AUTO.
5.2.8
On the Overhead Control Panel (OCP), make sure that these switches are ON:
−
GEN 1 (normally ON)
−
GEN 2 (normally ON)
−
AV 1 BUS (normally ON)
−
AV 2 BUS (normally ON)
−
CABIN BUS
−
EPS.
5.2.9
WARNING
THE BRIGHT WHITE LIGHT AND THE ULTRA-VIOLET RADIATION FROM THE STROBE LIGHT
CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EYES. TELL ALL PERSONS IN THE AREA NOT TO LOOK AT THE
STROBE LIGHT.
On the OCP:
−
Set the NAV switch to ON
−
Set the BEACON switch to ON
−
Set the STROBE switch to ON
−
Make sure that all the other external light switches are set to OFF.
5.2.10
Make sure that the transponder active mode is set to STBY on the XPDR window.
5.2.11
If the Heading/Track Override switch is installed:

Make sure that the Heading/Track Override switch is set to AUTO.
5.2.11.2
On the CAS, make sure that these caution messages are not shown:
