Priorities for Alarm
Conditions
Alarm conditions have the following priorities:
Priority 1:
• VF or VT detected based on ECG signal
Priority 2:
• Heart rate high or low limit exceeded
• SpO
2
high or low limit exceeded
• EtCO
2
high or low limit exceeded
• FiCO
2
high limit exceeded
• Respiration rate high or low limit exceeded
• Apnea detected
Priority 3:
• ECG leads off detected
• Low battery (11-15% capacity) detected
• Very low battery (0-10% capacity) detected
Note: For this condition, the priority 3 tone is followed by
the
LOW BATTERY: CONNECT TO AC POWER
prompts.
• Service condition that could prevent normal operation
detected
Energy Shunting
If the paddles input is connected in parallel with a second
defibrillator, energy delivery to the patient is reduced by less
than 10 percent.
Tall T-wave Rejection
T-waves that are 1 mV high are not detected by the monitor
when the R-wave size is 1 mV and input rate is 80 ppm.
Displayed SpO
2
The LIFEPAK 20e defibrillator/monitor is calibrated to display
functional saturation, which is the standard for SpO
2
.
