Appendix 1. Instruction on connection of the card capture
reader
The card capture reader is designed to operate as a device for reading, capturing and
keeping
Proximity
cards issued to visitors and meant for return at exit.
In
PERCo-Web
the
c
ontroller
CT/L-04.2
operates with the card capture reader, built-in
card capture readers of the
PERCo
turnstiles, connection of third party card capture
readers is possible. The procedure of configuring of the controller and the card capture
reader is described in
the Guide of the administrator
of these systems.
An example of connection of the PERCo card capture readers is shown on Figures 15 and
16. Any available inputs and outputs are used in the current controller configuration.
The controller controls the card capture reader by sending the input signal “
Capture the
card
” to the board of the card capture reader. One of the additional outputs of the
controller, which connects the input “
Capture the card”
, should be configured in software
so that upon presentation of the card to the proper card reader, the output is activated.
After card capturing, the card capture reader passes the signal “
Card captured”
, which the
controller uses as the confirmation of permission of passage in the required direction
through the OD. One of additional controller inputs should be configured in software that
when it is activated by the signal “
Card captured
”, the controller opens the operating
device in the required direction.
The card capture reader can generate other signals (for example, the signal of trouble in
his work, signal of filling container) that can be applied to the free inputs of the controller
by configuring them to required reactions (activation of appropriate sirens, etc.).
Settings of inputs and outputs of the card capture reader should correspond to Settings of
inputs and outputs of the controller (Sect. 5.5, 5.6, 5.7).
If the card capture reader has an input for indicating the passage permission (for example,
IC-05
), then, when opening the passage in the direction controlled by the card capture
reader, the appropriate command must be given. To do this, you can use the controller's
free output by configuring it as the output of the pass enable indication in that direction
(see Figure 16) or using the control output for the external indication of the OD, if it is (in
the PERCo turnstiles are the outputs "
Light B
", "
Light A
” of the CLB board).
