6.2 Automatic I/O Number Allocation and Arbitrary I/O
Number Allocation
Remote I/O map is the allocation of I/O numbers for slave stations that will be accepted by the CPU
when the system powers up.The remote I/O control is performed according to the I/O map.
1) For controlling with the I/O map automatically allocated to the active slave stations when the CPU of
the master station is turned on (Remote I/O control according to automatic allocation)
2) For controlling according to the I/O map that has been registered in the CPU (Remote I/O control
according to arbitrary allocation)
When actually controlling devices, it is recommended to use the arbitrary allocation method.
6.2.1 Remote I/O Control According to Automatic Allocation
When the CPU at the master station is turned on and a remote I/O map has not been stored in the CPU,
the I/O numbers are automatically allocated only for the slave stations which already have been turned
on. The remote I/O control will be performed according to the remote I/O map. (The base word number
is according to the setting.)
Note:
Remote I/O map has not been registered in the CPU with shipment. For the details of the registration
method, refer to the next section.
If initializing the system register in the CPU, the remote I/O map registered will be also initialized.System
registers are initialized using a programming device. When using the FP programmer; execute "OP-51".
When using the FPWIN GR; execute [Initialize] under [PLC Configuration].* Initialization of the remote
I/O map registered in the CPU cannot be performed without the initialization of teh CPU itself including
system registers and base word numbers.
-In the example above, I/O terminal board No. 2 is not turned on. So, the CPU configures the remote I/O
map only for No. 1 and 3.If slave station No. 2 is turned on after the CPU is turned on, the remote I/O
map will not be reconfigured.
-Remote I/O control can be performed on a trial basis by partially making a connection during the system
is being configured.
Note:
When allocating I/O numbers automatically, first turn on the slave stations to be controlled, then turn on
the master station. If you turn on the slave stations after turning on the master unit, the CPU on the
master station will not be able to control the slave station. The I/O for this slave station is skipped. Note
that the I/O numbers of slave stations after this slave station are different from the case that this slave
station has been turned on.
When terminal stations are not connected (caused b a broken wire or by a delay in applying power) to
the master unit, a "Terminal station error" will occur. In this case, turn off teh power supply of all the
devices. Connect the terminal stations correctly and turn them on again.
