1. Introduction
The Panasonic High Speed Scanner incorporates the Panasonic Image
Enhancement Technology (PIE) as a standard feature. PIE provides functions that
reproduce different kinds of documents faithfully to their originals.
1.1 Image enhancements function
The PIE functions can be accessed from either the ISIS driver or TWAIN driver which
is packaged with the scanner.
In most cases, the PIE functions can be accessed from applications that support ISIS
or TWAIN. However, some applications may not support all of the functions
described in this manual.
The PIE functions incorporated differ depending on the scanner. Refer to the tables
on the following pages to ascertain which functions can be used with your scanner.
Each mark
in this manual refers to the series name of the scanner.
If it is listed on a page describing the PIE functions, it signifies that the function
concerned can be used by the scanner or scanners in the corresponding series.
