3.21 Gamma
This function selects the gamma curve (shading adjustment curve).
The settings are available for the gamma curve: Normal, CRT and Linear.
Select CRT if the primary objective of scanning documents is to view them on the
display.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
•
Gamma curves customized to the individual user can be created and saved using
the driver. With the ISIS driver, gamma curves can also be created by creating
gamma pattern files.

The gamma can be set in the following Image Type.
—Color mode
—Grayscale mode
—Halftone (dither) or Error Difusion in Black and White mode
•
Gamma cannot be used when sRGB or ICM has been selected by Color Matching.
•
In the MultiStream (Binary&Gray or Binary&Color) mode of the
, the
gamma settings are valid only in the Black and White mode (Halftone (dither) or
Error Diffusion).
•
With the
, different settings cannot be used for the front and back sides
with Both scanning.
ISIS configuration method

Select the target gamma curve from the [Gamma] list box on the [Advanced
Settings] dialog box.

The custom gamma pattern can be used by selecting “User Downloaded” from
the [Gamma] list box (refer to
How to create the gamma pattern files
on the
next page to create a custom pattern). Click [Download...] and select the
gamma pattern file (*.PXG).
