Try taking the following steps if the Color Drop Out execution cannot be specified
satisfactorily.
Procedure 1
1
Use the mouse to drag the part where the colors were not removed on the
dropout view area (black and white expected image), and change the range of
the Color Drop Out colors.
•
Repeatedly drag the part in which Color Drop Out is to be executed until they
are removed.
Procedure 2
1
Position the mouse pointer over the part where the colors were not removed on
the dropout view area.
2
Position the mouse pointer over the part where the colors were not removed on
the dropout view area, and check whether the numerical values for the hue,
saturation and brightness displayed on the status bar are between the minimum
and maximum values of the conditions set.
3
If a setting is not within this range, input the numerical value directly into the
[Minimum] or [Maximum] edit box.
4
Select the [Preview] button, and check the results of what is re-displayed in the
dropout view area.
Procedure 3
Proceed as follows if, when Color Drop Out is specified, the text and other black parts
are removed.
1
Set the [Exempt Dark Color (Divide S,V)] check box in the [Color Drop Out
Setting] dialog box to on.
2
In the dropout view area, move the mouse pointer to the part where the black
parts were removed, and check numerical values for the saturation and
brightness displayed on the status bar.
3
Click the position of “S.V.view” which corresponds to a view which is a little
bigger than confirmed value at the status bar.
4
Select the [Preview] button, and check the results of what is re-displayed in the
dropout view area.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
•
The images appearing in the dropout view area are what are expected only, and
they may differ from the images which will actually be scanned. Use the expected
images as a general guideline only.
