Ingredients
1 egg
60ml evaporated milk
175g grated Gruyere
cheese
4 rashers of bacon
25g fresh bread-
crumbs
1/2
tsp garlic powder
1/2
tsp onion powder
800g minced beef
Preparation
Place bacon onto a heatproof plate and cook on
microwave 1000 watts for 2 minutes. Allow to
cool, then chop into small pieces.
Pre-heat the oven on convection 190°C with the
enamel shelf in position.
In a large bowl, combine the egg, milk, handful of
grated cheese, half of the bacon, breadcrumbs,
garlic and onion powder.
Add the minced beef and mix well.
Shape into a greased 23 x 13 x 7cm loaf tin and
place on enamel shelf.
Cook, uncovered for 1 hour.
Drain off the excess fat.
Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and bacon.
Bake for 5 minutes longer on convection 190°C
or until cheese is melted.
Allow to stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
