Remote I/O Configuration
There are eight types of Remote I/O as described below. You can use the appropriate Remote I/O type
for your application.

Remote I/O Types
Type
Description
Basic Speed I/O
Remote I/O included as standard for CompoNet communications.
This Remote I/O offers limited functions.
Extended Speed I/O
Remote I/O included as standard for CompoNet communications.
This Remote I/O offers general inverter control functions.
Extended Speed and Acceleration Con-
trol
OMRON's unique Remote I/O not defined in the CompoNet specifica-
tions.
This is the Extended Speed I/O with an additional Acceleration/Decel-
eration Time setting function.
Extended Speed and Torque Control
OMRON's unique Remote I/O not defined in the CompoNet specifica-
tions.
This is the Extended Speed I/O with an additional Torque Reference
function.
Extended Control I/O
OMRON's unique Remote I/O not defined in the CompoNet specifica-
tions.
This Remote I/O is optimized for the input/output function of inverters.
You can select the desired input/output function by setting a
multi-function input/output parameter.
Extended Control I/O and
Multi-function I/O Monitor
OMRON's unique Remote I/O not defined in the CompoNet specifica-
tions.
This is the Extended Control I/O function with an additional Multi-func-
tion Input Monitor function. You can use this Remote I/O as gen-
eral-purpose host inputs by configuring the multi-function inputs
(C001 to C009).
Special I/O
OMRON's unique Remote I/O not defined in the CompoNet specifica-
tions.
This Remote I/O enables access to Inverter's internal parameter
areas via Modbus communication.
Flexible Format
OMRON's unique Remote I/O not defined in the CompoNet specifica-
tions.
This Remote I/O enables more than one data including those in
Inverter's internal parameter areas to be allocated via Modbus com-
munication. You can select the data to be allocated using parameters
P160 to P179.
