Press the
button to switch the Device on. When no test object is near
the transducer, the thickness values on the Device screen can change randomly.

If necessary, calibrate the Device (see section "Calibration", item
"Thickness window")

Place the Device on the test object surface. Depending on the selected
accumulation number, the Device will display the measured thickness in the time
period from 100 ms to 3 s.
Data Transfer to PC
All saved archives with inspections (S-scans) are stored in the Device memory
in .csv format. This format can be opened in Microsoft Excel. To transfer the files from
the Device to the PC, use the EM1401_Downloader application. The application
window appearance is shown in the Figure below:

To download the files, connect the Device to the PC with the installed
EM1401_Downloader application, start up the application, switch on the Device, select
the thickness measurement units and press the button in the top left angle of the
application. Then, the application will read data from the Device and create *.csv files
in the folder with the application installed.
