Using the TIFF File Format
A flexible bitmap image format supported by virtually all paint,
image-editing, and page-layout applications. It supports compression
and layers.
TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is a flexible file format that stores
images, including photographs and line art and can handle multiple
images and multiple pages in a single file.
Advantages to using TIFF:

MS/Word RTF
Microsoft Word is a word processing package that stores multiple
pages of text and images. When saved as an “RTF” all the formatting
(fonts, sizes, margins, etc.) is saved with the file.
