PRODUCT FAMILIARISATION AND
INSTALLATION PREPARATION
PHASE 2
2.1 - PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION
This kit consists of a tubular motor and various components, all exclusive
-
ly designed for automation of roller shutter.
Any other use is absolute-
ly prohibited! The manufacturer is not liable for damage resulting
from any use of the product other than the intended use specified
in this manual.
The main components of the tubular motor are the motor, an electron
-
ic logic supplying the motor and controlling execution of manoeuvres, a
three-button transmitter for programming and commanding the automa-
tion system and a radio receiver incorporated in the control logic.
The tubular motor, through the use of adapters supplied for the purpose,
is installed by mounting it on the interior of the roller tube and the whole is
then affixed to the inside of the case (located above the roller shutter) us-
ing the supplied components.
The motor uses a control logic with an electronic limit switch which stops
the roller shutter movement when the motor reaches the following pro-
grammed positions (
fig. 25
): that with the roller shutter
fully lifted
(called
“
position 1
” in the manual), that with the roller shutter fully lowered
(called
“
position 0
” in the manual) and an optional intermediate position (called
“
position H
” in the manual) which may be useful, for example, for open
-
ing the roller shutter halfway
(
it is possible to store up to 30
intermediate
positions H).
After these end stop positions are programmed, sending a
command via
the transmitter will activate the roller shutter movement, which will stop
automatically when the stored “end stop” has been reached.
Generally, the tubular motor is programmed and controlled remotely (by
radio) via a transmitter. It is possible to store up to 30 transmitters in the
control logic; the supplied STX1 model is already programmed and read
to use.
During programming, the motor communicates its status by making little
step movements, with the number of steps leading the installer to the next
stage in the procedure.
When the roller shutter is moving, the control logic constantly controls
the effort produced by the motor and immediately interrupts the move
-
ment if the effort increases sharply, because of an accidental obstacle,
for example.
This motor is designed for residential application, and therefore for “dis
-
continuous” use. As a result, in the event of overheating - for instance,
due to continued actuation - thermal safety protection automatically inter
-
venes by cutting off the electrical power supply and subsequently recon
-
necting it once the temperature returns to normal values. In all cases, a
continuous working time of 4 minutes maximum is ensured.
2.2 – COMPONENTS CONTAINED IN THE KIT
