Set the Maximum Number of Wi-Fi Devices
You can enter the maximum number of Wi-Fi devices that are allowed to connect to the
gateway at the same time.
If your network is having performance issues, you might want to allow fewer Wi-Fi devices to
connect to your gateway at the same time, or change the maximum number of devices that can
connect to either the Main Wi-Fi or Guest Wi-Fi networks at the same time. (When Guest Wi-Fi
is turned on, the maximum number of Wi-Fi devices is shared between Main Wi-Fi and Guest
Wi-Fi.)
Note
: Your gateway is factory preset to allow a maximum of 64 Wi-Fi devices
Note
: If you change the Max Wi-Fi Devices value, the Main Wi-Fi and Guest Wi-Fi values
automatically adjust to match the new total.
1. On a computer or wireless device that is connected to your gateway, launch a Web
browser.
2. In the address or URL field of your browser, type

Wireless Distribution System (WDS)
The gateway can act as a wireless base station or a wireless repeater in a wireless distribution
system (WDS).
A WDS expands a wireless network through multiple access points. A wireless base station
connects to the Internet, can have wired and wireless clients, and sends its wireless signal to an
access point that functions as a wireless repeater. A wireless repeater can also have wired and
wireless clients, but connects to the Internet through the wireless base station. The following
figure shows a wireless repeating scenario.
To use the wireless repeating function, your gateway cannot have security enabled and cannot
use the auto channel feature.
You must set up a wireless base station and a wireless repeater:
