Installing the NEC INFO Center
To install the NEC INFO Center simply follow the instructions, presented earlier in this
chapter, for launching the APPLICATION AND DRIVER CD and installing the
software. For the most current version of the

Uninstalling the NEC INFO Center
Use one of the following methods to uninstall the NEC INFO Center.

Use this method to uninstall the NEC INFO Center using the Windows
Add/Remove Programs feature.
1.
Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, and double click Add/Remove Programs.
2.
Use the scroll bar, if necessary, to display the NEC INFO Center item.
3.
Highlight NEC INFO Center and click the Add/Remove button.
4.
Select Automatic as the uninstall method and click Next.
5.
Click Finish to complete the uninstall.
6.
When the uninstall is complete, click OK and close the Control Panel window.

Use this method to uninstall the NEC INFO Center using the Wise uninstall feature.
1.
Access the C:\NEC INFO directory on your hard disk drive.
2.
Double click the
unwise.exe
file or icon to remove all files and directories
associated with the NEC INFO Center.
Transmeta LongRun Utility
The Crusoe processor that powers your NEC Versa notebook is equipped with the
LongRun power management utility. This utility automatically adjusts the clock speed
and voltage of the processor based on the needs of the application. If the system is in an
idle state, or doing processing that doesn’t require faster clock speeds, it automatically
lowers to 300MHz. If the system is completing more demanding tasks, it adjusts up to a
full 600MHz. The ability to lower the processor speed results in longer battery life for
your NEC Versa system.
The LongRun utility is a tool that allows you to override these automatic adjustments
by the processor. You can
