3-20 Installing Options

Removing a SIMM

Use the following procedure to remove a SIMM.

CAUTION: Reduce static discharge by touching the
system's metal chassis.

Remove the system unit cover.

Locate the SIMM sockets (see “Option Installation
Procedures” earlier in the chapter).

Press the metal clips at the outer edges of the socket
away from the SIMM.

Push the SIMM away from the locking tabs and remove
it from the socket.

Removing a SIMM

Use the following procedure to install a SIMM stick.
