8.
Install a replacement heat sink as follows and in accordance with the
procedures contained in the heat sink kit.
Using the wrong heat sink or no heat sink can damage the
processor, system board, or both. Ensure that the
replacement processor has the correct heat sink (refer to the
documentation that comes with the kit).
Additional installation information can be obtained from NEC
CSD (see Section 8, “NEC CSD Information Services” for
information on contacting NEC CSD).

Center a new thermal pad on top of the processor.

Align the heat sink with the processor and set it down on the pad and
processor (see the above figure for alignment).
9.
Attach the heat sink retention clip by hooking the right end of the clip over
the socket tab. Press the other end of the clip over the tab on the opposite
side of the socket until the clip snaps in place.
10.
Attach the CPU fan to the heat sink with the two previously removed
screws.
