Setting Up the System
POST Lamp
Four lamps indicating the POST progress are located on the system board. They
are visible through the slits on the rear panel of the server. If POST does not
complete, the screen displays an error message, or you hear beeps, note the beep
pattern and contact your service representative. The location of POST lamps is
shown in Figure 2-37, P.
AC POWER Lamp
The AC POWER lamp is located on the rear of each power supply. See Figure
2-37, K. The lamp turns green and flashes when the power supply unit receives
AC power from the power cord, which is connected to an AC outlet.
The lamp turns green when the server power switch is turned on. If the lamp
does not go on when the server power switch is turned on or if it turns or blinks
amber, the power supply unit is probably faulty. In this case, contact your
service representative to replace the power supply unit.
