Configuring Your System
Clearing and Changing the Passwords
To clear and change the passwords:
1.
Unlock and open the front bezel and power off the system.
2.
Slide the server out of the rack into the locked position as described in
Chapter 4 of this guide.
3.
Remove the top cover.
4.
Remove the system power cord from the back of the system.
5.
Locate the position of the password jumper on the system board.
See Figure 3-1. To change a jumper setting, use a pair of needle-nose pliers
or your fingers to remove the jumper from its current location. Position the
jumper over the two pins shown at Figure 3-1, B and press it onto the pins.
Be careful not to bend the pins. Also refer to Table 3-3 for system board
jumper setting descriptions.
6.
Connect the power cord, power on the system and after POST completes,
power down the system and unplug the power cord.
7.
Remove the password jumper to its original position.
8.
Replace the top panel, connect the power cord, and power on the system.
9.
Press
F2
at the prompt to run the BIOS Setup utility. Specify a new
password, if desired.
