Upgrading Your System 4-21
Rotate the heat sink lightly to the left and then to the right to free it
from the CPU. Do not forcibly remove the CPU. Lift the heat sink
straight out of the retention module. See Figure 4-20.

Raise the locking bar on the socket. See Figure 4-13.

Remove the processor from the socket. See Figure 4-21.

Install the plastic processor air duct removed in Step 5 of this procedure. See

Reinstall the top cover on the system chassis. See

earlier in this chapter.

Plug in the system power cord(s).

Power on the server, start the BIOS SETUP utility, and set "Processor
Retest" of "Processor Settings" on the Main menu to "Enable".
