Troubleshooting the Software Installation
If there is a problem during the installation, CompanionPro will display an error
message to indicate the type of problem that occurred. Some common error
messages are reproduced below along with information on how to troubleshoot
them:
You may try to uninstall iDEN CompanionPro and reinstall. If the installation tells
you to restart the computer, you must do so, to insure proper installation.
If CompanionPro still cannot be installed, please refer to page 96.
Troubleshooting the Hardware Setup
Hardware setup problems usually surface when reading or writing Call List data to
the phone.
To solve the problem:
1.
Make sure that the
PC
and the programming cable you are using meet the
specifications on pages 13 and 16 respectively.
2.
Check for loose hardware connections. Make sure that the programming
cable is securely connected to the iDEN phone.
3.
Make sure the phone is powered on and has a fully charged battery.
4.
Examine the metal contacts on the iDEN phone and on the programming
cable for dust or grime. If necessary, clean the contacts with alcohol and let
dry.
If you see this
message...
Do this:
Cannot create...
directory.
Check if the directory path you entered is valid.
If not, specify a valid path.
There is not enough
space available xx bytes
on disk XX.
Make sure you have at least X MB of free disk
space available and try the installation again.
An error occurred during
the move process.
Close all open applications and try the
installation again.
NOTE: Make sure that your computer meets the minimum requirements for
installation that appear on page 13.
