Maintaining the Xstreamjet
Remove the front waste ink tank 3.
– Open the printer cover. Remove the small
waste ink receptacle by loosening the two thumb screws. Pull the tank straight up
to remove it.
Dispose of the receptacle as new or serviced printers are shipped with a new
receptacle.
Secure the print head 4. – Ensure that the print head is at the home position to the
far right. (If it isn’t, gently guide it there by hand.) Affix the print head to the side
of the printer with a tape strip.
Remove the rear waste ink tank 5. – On the back of the unit, loosen the thumbscrew
and carefully pull the rear waste ink tank out of the printer. Squeeze the
connector on the tube leading to the tank and pull the tube away from the tank.
Empty waste ink 6. – Loosen the two screws that attach the tank to the bracket and
separate the tank from the bracket. (See Emptying the Waste Ink Tank above.)
Pull off the yellow tank cap, dispose of any waste ink, and rinse the tank with
warm water.
