Workstation 4 Diagnostic Utility
The Workstation 4 includes a ‘built-in’ diagnostic utility located on the Disk-On-Chip.
Based on the DemoDiag found in the MICROS PC Workstation Series, the WS4
DiagUtility includes a comprehensive test of internal hardware and peripherals.
The WS4 Diagnostic Utility continues to be updated to support the latest
enhancements. Listed below are some of the features and bug fixes added since
release.
Version 1.87 (Included with GR 1.0)

Boot loader version display bug. Boot loader version 2.09 now correctly
appears as 2.0.9.
•
LCD Display Test - now displays up to five solid colors on the Operator LCD
to assist in detecting bright or black pixels.
Version 1.90 (Included with GR 1.2 through GR 2.3a)

System Info Dump - A new button on the System Info Screen writes all values
to a text file called WS4Dump.txt, located on the root of the \DOC folder.

Integrated and Pole LCD Customer Display Support - Used to enable the CFD
or LCD Customer Display options. Also includes testing of the LCD
Customer Display.
Running the WS4 DiagUtilty
1. From the CE Desktop, touch the My Computer icon twice.
2. Touch the DOC icon twice.
3. Touch the Utilities folder twice.
4. Touch the DiagUtilty icon twice to start the utility.

The WS4 Diagnostics Utility starts and displays the System Information
screen, the central location for checking the system board’s hardware revision
and platform software versions.

In the following pages, we’ll highlight the System Information screen and
break it into both the hardware and software components.
