Function of the ASSYST PLUS service interval dis-
play
The ASSYST PLUS service interval display on the
instrument cluster provides information on the
remaining time or distance before the next service
due date.
You can hide this service message by using the
back button on the left-hand side of the steering
wheel.
You can obtain further information concerning the
servicing of your vehicle from a qualified specialist
workshop, e.g. an authorized Mercedes-Benz Cen-
ter.
Displaying the service due date

Maintenance work which is not carried out at
the right time or incompletely can lead to
increased wear and damage to the vehicle.

Adhere to the prescribed service inter-
vals.

Always have the prescribed maintenance
work carried out at a qualified specialist
workshop.
The prescribed service interval is based on normal
vehicle use. Perform maintenance work more often
than prescribed if the vehicle is operated under
arduous operating conditions or increased loads.
Examples of arduous operating conditions:

Regular city driving with frequent intermediate
stops
R
Mainly short-distance driving
R
Frequent operation in mountainous terrain or
on poor road surfaces
R
When the engine is often left idling for long
periods
R
Operation in particularly dusty conditions
and/or if air-recirculation mode is frequently
used
In these or similar operating conditions, have the
interior air filter, air filter, engine oil and oil filter, for
example, changed more frequently. If the vehicle is
subjected to increased loads, check the tires more
frequently. You can obtain further information at a
qualified specialist workshop.
Non-operational times with the battery disconnec-
ted
The ASSYST PLUS service interval display can cal-
culate the service due date only when the battery
is connected.

the instrument cluster before disconnecting
the battery (

WARNING Risk of accident due to driving
with the hood unlocked
The hood may open and block your view.

Never release the hood when driving.
#
Before every trip, ensure that the hood is
locked.

WARNING Risk of burns when opening the
hood
If you open the hood in the event of an over-
heated engine or fire in the engine compart-
ment, the following situations may occur:

You may come into contact with hot gases.
R
You may come into contact with other
escaping hot operating fluids.
