STEP 1
Connect the smart tester
Turn the ignition ON
Initialise the diagnostic tool
Record the DTC and clear
Turn ignition OFF
Turn ignition ON
Verify if P0193 is present?
Is P0193 present?
Intermittent problem exists
Refer the intermittent problem
inspection procedure

Ignition OFF
Rail pressure sensor wiring
harness connector
DISCONNECTED
Ignition ON
Check the voltage between pin
3 of rail pressure sensor wiring
harness connector and battery
ground
Is the value > 5
.25
V
?
Examine the short circuit of rail
pressure sensor power wire
with battery positive
Repair/replace the wiring
harness
Clear the DTC and verify
If the DTC still exists, replace the
EMS ECU with a new one
Check and verify for any new
DTC’s

NO
Ignition OFF
Rail pressure sensor wiring
harness connector
DISCONNECTED
Check the resistance between
pin 3 and pin 2 of rail pressure
sensor wiring harness connector
YES
NO
Go to STEP 4
Examine the short circuit of rail
pressure sensor power and
signal wires
Repair/replace the wiring
harness
Clear the DTC and verify
